Architecture of Calvados
The French department of Calvados forms part of the region of Basse-Normandie in Normandy. It takes its name from a cluster of rocks off the coast. Calvados is one of the original 83 departments created during the French Revolution on March 4, 1790. It was created from part of the former province of Normandy.
