Napoleon wanted the stock exchange to be housed to reflect "the grandeur of the capital" so a new building was started inn 1808. The site was once an old Dominican cloister. Originally the building resembled a single-story temple, later additions by Eloi de Labarre have obscured this simplicity. The building is now cruciform in shape.
Napoleon a voulu que la bourse des valeurs fût logée pour refléter "le grandeur du capital" ainsi un nouveau bâtiment était l'auberge commencée 1808. L'emplacement était par le passé un vieux cloister dominicain. À l'origine le bâtiment a ressemblé à un temple à un niveau, les additions postérieures par Eloi de Labarre ont obscurci cette simplicité. Le bâtiment est maintenant cruciforme dans la forme.
